Obesity crisis. Costing us £billions.

The traffic is one huge concern as that road is bedlam for most of the day. There have been a number of near misses I have seen when it was THI Fridays.

The proximity to schools and the need to promote healthy eating. Why can't Macdonald's provide healthy foods like salads.

What are the opening hours going to be? Whatever they will be the impact on local residents will be huge with rubbish and smells being the main concern.

The A40 is gridlocked for 6 hours a day, due to the volume of traffic using this main artery into and out of Cheltenham. This is mainly caused by busses stopping on route to Gloucester or cars pulling out of Granley road or turning off onto Tennison road. If McDonalds was to be allowed to use this site, this would increase the traffic 10 fold, and half of those cars would turn right and cut across both carriageway causing the flow of traffic to stop in both directions. You only have to look at the chaos on the Tewkesbury road or Gloucester site, to see this has caused major traffic hold ups, and the likelihood of serious accidents. There will also be problems with the smell and rubbish, which will encourage rat and seagulls into the area.

I am concerned at the impact on the traffic. The road is already the main route in and out of Cheltenham and adding extra traffic to this is irresponsible. The rubbish, the smell and the seagulls are also something to think about when adding a McDonald’s to such a residential built up area. The site is near children’s schools and bus stops and therefore will also have a negative impact on children. Laura

Thank you Will for this balanced account. Thanks for making the effort. The road is too fast, it should be 30 mph on this bend. Someone is going to get killed. Probably a teenager visiting McDonalds
